The criteria I gave Dave was to write me a contemporary piece using the extended techniques open to the trumpets and over a friendly range (this was in order to keep my chops in for the other 40 minutes of the recital).<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Dave and I worked closely on this arrangement as I refined some rough ideas with him and we explored extended trumpet techniques. Contemporary music is outside of my comfort zone but I think we came out with a good piece.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The actual performance went well although I think if I wasn&#8217;t under such time constraints I might have made a better job.
