Dave Livesey – Professional Composer & Arranger

Why is it so difficult for people with actual talent to get into the field that they love??

My good friend and colleague Dave Livesey (from the Conservatoire) has still yet to have his talent put to good use.

Dave has written and arranged a great deal of music for me varying from from 40 minutes of full orchestral music to a 10 minute long avantgarde solo trumpet piece.

He also conducted my Orchestra of 54 musicians in the Sound Ideas Project as well as arranging all of its music.

Dave is currently forced to look for non-music related jobs. Even though he is also an accomplished organist and gigs regularly it isn’t managing to sustain enough of a living alone.

This is often the case with young professionals. Yet if they decided not to use their abilities, to sit on their backsides all day and go on the dole they would make a better living than most musicians starting out.

What a great way to run a country and encourage those with talent!?!

Dave Livesey is currently working on the following. These will not generate an income but will hopefully get his work some well deserved attention:
Suite of Piano pieces (Not Commissioned, Personal Project).
Magnificat & Nunc Dimitis for Choir & Organ (Not Commissioned But For Choir of
Liverpool Cathedral – Personal Project).
Christmas Piece for the RLPO (Not Commissioned and may not be selected for
performance by selection committee at the Phil.).

He is defiantly a young talented worth keeping an eye on.
